At long last, one of my most anticipated Horus Heresy units has been unveiled by Forge World. The Salamanders Pyroclasts are finally unleashed! Covered in details like drake scales and symbols of fire, the Pyroclasts embody their wrathful heritage and really fit the description you would expect. Really liking how this unit turned out overall. This is the first major Legion specific unit for the Salamanders in the Horus Heresy game so far, and i think they did a great job with them. Armed with flame projector units, this unit is a really fun addition to any Salamander Legion list, and packs a nice punch for the price. The squad also has a few models armed with other weapons, such as a power fist and a power sword. I am glad there is finally a Legion specific unit for the Salamanders as they were one of the only Legions with rules that hadn't yet seen their own squad released.
This model is probably my favorite of the bunch, armed with the power sword, and clad in ornate armor, this guy looks amazing. I could definitely see this model being used for conversions for a regular 40k army too as it would make a really nice sergeant model aswell.

Lots and lots of details on this squad on the whole, i think maybe if the drake scale areas had been painted in a red scale it may have looked a little better, but the unit definitely still looks really good. I can't wait to buy them myself, but i will need to save for a while as i also have a major car project going on right now too. Worst timing ever. Oh well, at least Forge World have now released them. :)
