Newly announced today on Forge World's website, the Iron Hands Gorgon Terminators have arrived and are now available for pre-orders. These are a must have for any Iron Hands fans out there and are some really nice models. Yer another great release by Forge World. Here's a link to more info and more pictures: http://www.forgeworld.co.uk/New_Stuff/IRON_HANDS_LEGION_GORGON_TERMINATORS.html. More thoughts on the Gorgons below.
Here's the brief description of the Gorgons directly from Forge World:
"One of a number of Tactical Dreadnought Armour sub-classes found within
the ranks of the Iron Hands Legion, the Gorgon pattern was one of a
number of on-going attempts by Ferrus Manus and his cadre of
Iron-Fathers to refine and augment the various patterns of Terminator
armour employed by the Legiones Astartes forces.
One of the most extreme technological examples of the Iron Hands’
innovation to improve on these designs was the hazardous but powerful
‘Gorgon’ prototype, which required bonding to its wearer, and which
Ferrus Manus would not live long enough to refine to its full potential."
A really impressive looking unit, the Gorgons have some really nice features, from the legion iconography built onto their Shoulder pads, to the large power axes they wield. This squad is definitely something that would be impressive to see on the table.
The armor plates also have some nice touches, such as the small embellishments on the leg armor and the bionic augments on their helmets.
The sergeant also comes with a nice hammer and has a servo skull hovering beside him. I think one of the most interesting things on this unit is perhaps the paint color choice. It is pretty unique and i like it. Parts of the armor plates are black, while others definitely have a more green hue to them. Definitely a unique unit to add to the Iron Hands army for 30k but i can definitely see strong potential for this as a 40k unit in a lot of peoples Iron hands armies.
On a small side note, also released is an Emperors Children transfer sheet. :)
