So during a campaign that I have been running at my local store recently, a guy named Rick brought this in with his Iron Warriors army. This hulking monstrosity is known as Forge Lord Baldomar Fabron. Needless to say the coolness factor of this model is through the roof, and the model looks even better in person. I wasn't able to get all of the more minor details with my phones camera, but this thing is covered with details. From the chaos symbols on its hull, to the trophy heads hanging from its chains, this Daemon Prince radiates intimidation on the table. I managed to get some information about what it took to build and also a few shots of the model from various angles. Rick also brought along some of his newly built Chosen conversions, which are apparently to function as the Daemon Prince's elite bodyguard unit.
It took parts from 4 kits mostly. The legs, torso and arms are made using the Dreadknight kit, while the Wings, additional torso ornamentation and the talons of the right hand are from the Heldrake. Shoulder mounts and the armor plates on the legs, along with the left hand are from the Forgefiend, and finally, the shoulder mounted weapons and head are from the Defiler box. Minor details like the lasher tendrils and the wrist mounted cannons are also from the forgefiend and dreadknght kits respectively.
As you can see this model is pretty large. During the campaign game over the weekend, it was towering over everything else on the board. Rick's Daemon Prince also manage to kill High Marshall Helbrecht and a crusader squad during our Eye of Terror campaign game, before finally being taken out by a Beast Hunter Shell from an Imperial Guard Armored Battle Group. To reflect the slaying of an enemy character during the campaign, Rick also decided to add the head of Helbrecht to the chains hanging from his model, as you can see below.
To round off this little article i thought i would add this final picture of Rick's Daemon Prince next to his Chosen squad to show a size comparison. As you see, its pretty huge.
More conversion articles to follow in the near future, and more pictures of the Forge Lord will be added once he has been painted.
