Tyranid Tidal Wave

Yesterday saw a huge amount of information drop regarding Tyranids and their upcoming release. This looks like it is shaping up to be one a solid release to start the new year. Expect this release to be a difficult one when it comes to deciding what to buy first as it seems that there is a number of big new bugs to use on top of the selectiong that were previously available. Rumors and more below....

Pictures have surfaced across a few sites which i wont post directly here, but many of the new things can be seen at Bell of lost Souls via the link here:  http://www.lounge.belloflostsouls.net/showthread.php?33545-Tyranids-Rumor-Roundup/page52. The new big creatures, the Harpy/ Hive Crone, and the Haruspex/Exocrine kits look amazing. I shall definitely be picking up some of those to add some more beef to my somewhat small Tyranid collection. Here is a look at what to expect in a few weeks. :) (Please note that all sources here were originally via Natfka's blog)

Here is some of the rules rumors that have shown up so far too. remember that unitl we see the book, they are just still rumors, not facts.
Regarding Tervigons: (via BoLS)
" Tervigons

Both upgrades can be purchased

Army Special Rules
Synapse providing Eternal Warrior."

Some more general rules/mechanics rumors:(Natfka's Blog)
" Rules
>- Psychic Discipline: Dominion (Primaris), Psychic Scream, Warp Blast, Catalyst, Paroxysm, The Horror, Onslaught.
>- Army-wide Move Through Cover.
>- Hormagaunts are cheaper and have fleet, but are not beasts.
>- Rippers are more expensive but are "no longer suicidal".
>- Gargoyles still have Blind Venom, same function.
>- Tyrants keep the twin devourers setup.
>- Broodlords have a fixed (no rolling) psychic power.
>- Tervigons and Hive Tyrants roll for random powers.
>- Tervigons can still be taken as Troops with a brood of gaunts.
>- New Instinctive Behaviours added. The effect is fixed per-unit, no rolling.
Well thats the majority of what i could find that was pretty new and more or less more reliable. Seems like it will be a fun book. Hoping that this will bring Tyranids back to the table in vast numbers. I've missed seeing them for quite a while as all the newer books seemed to make them hide away in shame. Its about time they come back to being feared and respected by the other armies in 40k. :)
